Virtual Therapy for Gay Men in Miami
You look like you have it together. You’re ready to feel that way, too.
Josh Davis, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Online therapy for gay and queer men in Miami, Florida
You work hard. You show up for everyone. From the outside, your life looks pretty good.
But you’re exhausted. You overthink what you said, question whether you’re enough, and wonder why feeling close to someone can be so hard.
Maybe you have friends, a partner, and a busy social life in Miami, yet still feel alone. You want somewhere you can talk honestly about your relationships, sex, shame, and the parts of yourself you usually keep hidden.
You don’t have to keep holding it all together by yourself.
As a gay man myself, I get how much energy it can take to look confident while struggling underneath.
I offer virtual therapy for gay men in Miami who want more connection, self-trust, and room to be themselves.
When Looking Successful Still
Doesn’t Feel Like Enough
Dating apps, career expectations, body image, and comparison can turn life into another performance. You might feel pressure to be successful, desirable, easygoing, and always okay. For some gay men, that pressure started long before adulthood, when being accepted meant hiding parts of yourself or working harder to earn approval. Being out doesn’t always mean you feel free from shame. Therapy is a place to get curious about those patterns and what they’re costing you now.
Online Therapy That Fits Your Life in Miami
You deserve a space where you can stop performing.
I meet with Miami clients virtually through a secure virtual platform. You can attend from a private comfortable space without dealing with Miami traffic.
You might be navigating a demanding career, dating that leaves you questioning your worth, or a relationship where you give a lot but rarely feel understood. We can talk about what’s actually happening, including the things you’re afraid might sound needy, messy, or embarrassing.
If you’re used to pushing yourself harder whenever something feels wrong, therapy for perfectionism and pressure may be especially relevant. We can also explore shame and self-worth and how earlier relationships still shape the way you see yourself.
You don’t need to be in crisis to want something deeper. Wanting to feel more present, secure, and connected is enough reason to reach out.

I Help Gay Men Who Struggle with:
Hey, I’m Josh! It’s nice to meet you.
I help gay men and their relationships move toward more confidence, connection, and peace.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensed in Florida, based in Fort Lauderdale, and I work with clients in Miami online. My practice is a team of one. You’ll work directly with me.
As a gay man, I bring lived experience as well as clinical training. You can talk openly about identity, sexuality, and the relationships that matter to you. We’ll make room for your experience without assuming every gay man’s story is the same.
My work centers on complex trauma, shame, self-worth, and relationships. If you and your partner want support together, learn more about gay and queer couples therapy, including support for open and non-traditional relationships.
My Approach
My work is grounded in NARM, the NeuroAffective Relational Model, a relational, body-centered approach to complex trauma.
We pay attention to what happens in the present: the pressure to get things right, the urge to hide what you need, or the moment you disconnect from yourself or your partner.
We approach those patterns with curiosity. They often developed for a reason. Understanding them can create more room to choose how you want to respond now.
Virtual sessions still leave space to slow down, notice what’s happening in your body, and explore how you relate to yourself and others. You don’t have to retell every painful memory to begin.
If this sounds familiar, you can read more about therapy for complex trauma and what complex trauma can look like.

-
Yes. I’m licensed in Florida and offer virtual therapy to adults in Miami and throughout the state. My office is in Fort Lauderdale, so Miami sessions take place online. A lot of therapy stays in your head: analyzing patterns, reframing thoughts, filling out worksheets, behavioral interventions, etc. That can be helpful, but it often doesn't touch the deeper stuff, that is keeping patterns going. My approach (NARM) is body-centered and relational, meaning we're working with what's actually happening in you, not just what you can articulate about it. Most people say it feels more real and deeper than therapy they've done before.
-
Absolutely. A lot of the gay men I work with are functioning pretty well on the outside: successful, social, holding it together. But internally there's this low hum of pressure, self-doubt, or disconnection they can't quite shake. You don't have to hit a wall to benefit from this work. If something feels off and you want more than just "fine," that's enough.
-
Yes! You won't need to brace for judgment. Whether it's navigating non-traditional relationships, your kinks, talking about intimacy, or unpacking complicated feelings about your body or sexuality, nothing is off-limits here. This is a space where you can actually show up unfiltered.

I market to gay men, queer folks, trans men, and bisexual men. I also work with cis and heterosexual men and women too, basically anyone who's been navigating relationships and complex trauma. If we have a good vibe, we are good to go! I also offer couples therapy for gay and queer couples if that's something you and a partner are considering.
