Get To Know Me

Hi, I’m Josh!

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida, passionate about helping individuals and couples deepen their connections and heal from complex trauma.

Much of my early career was spent working with teens and families navigating substance use, where I saw firsthand how deeply interconnected we are. This led me to specialize in relationship dynamics, attachment wounds, and helping people feel more at home within themselves. I also have experience supporting adults with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and emotional sensitivity.

I believe healing happens in relationships—both with ourselves and others. Whether you're struggling with self-doubt, relationship challenges, or emotional overwhelm, my goal is to create a non-judgmental space where you can explore, grow, and reconnect.

Outside of therapy, you'll find me outdoors, exploring nature, and embracing creativity. I value a balanced, fulfilling life and help my clients cultivate the same.

My Theoretical Approach

My approach to therapy integrates the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) with dialectical techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address the root causes of trauma and emotional distress. NARM is based on the understanding that we all have an innate sense of aliveness, but life experiences can lead us to develop adaptive strategies that disconnect us from our core vitality.

As a NARM therapist, I attune to how clients connect and disconnect to themselves—both cognitively and somatically—through patterns of expansion and contraction. I believe that healing happens through reconnecting with ourselves at a deep, embodied level, allowing greater access to our inherent aliveness. At the core of this work is the understanding that we are all doing the best we can with what we have.

Rather than following a rigid structure, I honor each client’s agency in guiding the direction of our sessions. I trust that every person holds an innate wisdom about their own healing process, and I support them in exploring what feels most relevant and meaningful in the moment. By fostering curiosity and self-inquiry, I help clients tune into their inner experience and open up new possibilities for growth and connection.

Through this relational and compassionate approach, I create a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings and patterns with greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a renewed sense of agency. Whether working with individuals or couples, my goal is to support the development of deeper, healthier connections—both within themselves and in their relationships—while navigating the complexities of emotional and relational dynamics.
